Xavi’s Contract Renewal with Barça Set for September

In a recent press conference ahead of the match against Cádiz, Barça coach Xavi Hernández confidently stated that his contract renewal was going “perfectly.” Although he chose not to delve into further details, his conviction was evident. Xavi, however, prefers not to discuss the matter extensively, as he believes he is not the main protagonist at this moment. Nevertheless, it is clear that negotiations will continue until September.

According to SPORT, The sporting department’s priority has been to balance the salary cap while ensuring the registration of all new signings. Once the transfer window closes, attention will turn towards finalizing the new contract for Xavi, a promise made public by President Joan Laporta a few months ago.

Xavi’s agent has already held several consultations at the sports city, but discussions have not progressed beyond exploring potential figures that could lead to an agreement. From now on, Deco will take the reins of the negotiations, and it is hoped that the process will not be prolonged, despite significant economic differences.

When Xavi joined Barça, he accepted a relatively low salary due to the circumstances, but his performance has since helped the team secure the league title. It is now time for his remuneration to be adjusted accordingly, although the club intends to impose a limit on the improvement.
