Former FC Barcelona player Arturo Vidal has criticized Real Madrid, which he accuses of match-fixing. According to him, the club from the Spanish capital are behind the introduction of the video assistant referee (VAR).
Vidal is convinced the referee helped Real Madrid win the Champions League three times.Real Madrid won the Champions League in 2016, 2017 and 2018. And Vidal is of the opinion that the treble is due to Los Blancos being helped by the referees.
Vidal told TNT Argentina that FIFA introduced VAR to prevent officials from favoring clubs.
“Real Madrid were favored by the referee twice in their treble, when they beat Bayern Munich in 2017 and 2018. Everyone has seen it. I think that’s why they then introduced VAR, they couldn’t fix games like that anymore,” he said.
Madrid have not moved this summer and will not move
