OM interested in Reyna, but Dortmund wants a big fee

Marseille are in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a potential deal for Giovanni Reyna, but the German club are demanding a big fee for the American midfielder.

Reyna, 21, has struggled to get regular game time at Dortmund this season, making just 10 Bundesliga appearances. He is keen to move on in search of more playing time, and Marseille are one of a number of clubs interested in signing him.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Dortmund will only sell Reyna if they receive a “suitable offer”. This could mean a permanent transfer for a significant fee, or a loan deal with an obligatory purchase option.

Marseille are looking for a creative midfielder to add to their squad, and Reyna would be a good fit. However, they will need to be prepared to pay a premium if they want to sign him.

Competition for Reyna is also mounting. Nottingham Forest and Sevilla are both interested in signing him, and Dortmund could be tempted by a higher offer from one of these clubs.

It remains to be seen whether Marseille will be able to beat off the competition and sign Reyna. However, they are certainly interested in the player, and they are willing to put in the work to make a deal happen.
