Portuguese International Accused of Sexual Assault

William Carvalho, a player for Betis, has been summoned by the Spanish courts to answer a complaint for sexual assault on Tuesday.

The Portuguese international midfielder is accused of assaulting a woman in Seville last summer. The plaintiff claims that Carvalho drugged and assaulted her after a night out at a restaurant, nightclub, and then a hotel. She specifically states that she was “held tightly by the neck” before being forced into sexual acts.

Carvalho is due to appear before the investigating judge on Tuesday morning to answer the charges. The case has come at a critical time for the player, who is on the verge of finalizing a transfer to Besiktas. With only three days remaining before the Turkish winter transfer window closes, this case could disrupt the negotiations and put the player’s move to his new club, where he is expected to join his former coach Fernando Santos, on hold.

The allegations against Carvalho are serious and could have a significant impact on his career. He has denied the charges, but the case is likely to overshadow his footballing activities for the foreseeable future.

It is important to note that Carvalho is innocent until proven guilty. The allegations against him have not been tested in court, and he has the right to defend himself against the charges.

This is a developing story and we will update it as more information becomes available.
