Thomas Meunier set for Turkey move after Borussia Dortmund exit

Borussia Dortmund right-back Thomas Meunier is on the verge of joining Trabzonspor in Turkey, according to Todofichajes. The 32-year-old’s contract with BVB expires at the end of the season, and he has been a regular in the team this season, starting each of the last seven games.

Meunier joined Dortmund from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 on a free transfer. He has made a total of 83 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and providing eight assists.

The move to Trabzonspor would allow Meunier to continue playing regularly in a competitive league. The Turkish Süper Lig is currently ranked 10th in UEFA’s league rankings, and Trabzonspor are currently in fourth place.

The transfer window in Turkey closes on Friday, so there is still time for the deal to be completed. Meunier would be a significant addition for Trabzonspor, and he would be expected to help them challenge for the title in the second half of the season.
