Mbappé announcement imminent: Tension rises in Spain

Kylian Mbappé, heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, has yet to make an official announcement. However, the Paris Saint-Germain forward could reveal his decision in the coming days.

As the Champions League tie against Real Sociedad approaches, the focus at Paris Saint-Germain is not on the last 16 clash. Instead, all the talk is about the future of Kylian Mbappé, who is widely expected to join Real Madrid.

This is the trend reported by numerous sources, including Le Parisien. Journalist Coralie Salle of the daily newspaper confirmed the possible departure of the French international, who could announce his decision in the coming days.

“The trend is towards a departure,” the journalist said on the Spanish program Les Sublimes. “But it’s true that for now, it doesn’t mean he’s leaving. It means that for now, he’s thinking about leaving. He still hasn’t made his decision. It’s true that in the French media, we think he should make his decision before facing Real Sociedad. But nobody knows anything. And in some media outlets, they seem to be saying that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi isn’t necessarily aware of the situation. So if the PSG president isn’t aware of Kylian Mbappé’s decision, there’s perhaps a little problem.”

Astonishing timing

“But he’s been at PSG for seven years, he should announce that he wants to leave. His decision before the match against Real Sociedad? That’s what’s being said. But if I said what I think, I would say it’s a bit strange to approach the double header by saying he’s leaving. Because if there’s a failure, it will be untenable for him. So we don’t know. But normally his decision should come soon, and without necessarily saying that he’s going to Madrid, but simply saying that he’s leaving,” concluded Coralie Salle.
