Chelsea Keeping tabs on Jules Kounde

Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Jules Kounde, with the view of making a move for the defender in the summer transfer window.

The Blues had a strong interest in Kounde during the summer of 2022, but he ultimately opted to join Barcelona from Sevilla.

However, Chelsea have not given up on the Frenchman and are ready to reignite their interest in him at the end of the season.

According to reports from Fichajes, Chelsea scouts were present at the Champions League clash between Napoli and Barcelona last week, specifically to watch Kounde in action.

The 24-year-old has impressed since his move to Camp Nou, playing in a variety of roles at the back for Xavi’s side.

Kounde is seen as a potential replacement for Thiago Silva, who is out of contract at Chelsea in the summer.

The Blues are not the only club interested in Kounde, with Newcastle and Arsenal also reportedly monitoring the situation.

However, Chelsea’s interest is likely to be the strongest, and they could be prepared to pay a significant fee to land their man.
