Atlético Madrid open to loaning Joao Félix to Barcelona again

Atlético Madrid are reportedly willing to loan Joao Félix to Barcelona again in the summer transfer window. The move would come as no surprise to many, as Félix has been in the news for the past few seasons for his inconsistent performances and struggles to adapt to life at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Since joining Atlético, the young Portuguese has had friction with manager Diego Simeone, which has affected his time at the club. After a short stint at Chelsea in January 2023, Félix joined Barcelona on loan last summer, where he looked to rediscover his best form.

However, it seems his future is still up in the air, with Atlético Madrid willing to sell him permanently for a fee of around €80 million. Barcelona, who are not willing to make such a large investment for Félix, are reportedly interested in another loan deal with an option to buy, either mandatory or optional.

For Atlético Madrid, keeping Félix out of the first team is a priority, which could pave the way for another loan to Barcelona. Reports suggest that the Rojiblancos believe the player only has eyes for the Blaugrana, which could facilitate negotiations between the two parties.

In short, Joao Félix’s future seems to be away from Atlético Madrid, and once again Barcelona are presented as a likely destination for the talented Portuguese forward. The summer transfer market will be closely watching this potential move, which could define the direction of both clubs for the next season.
