AC Milan have confirmed that Olivier Giroud will leave the club at the end of the season, and they have already identified his successor.
Giroud, 37, has been linked with a move to Los Angeles FC, where he would join former France teammate Hugo Lloris. The French striker has not renewed his contract with Milan, and his departure is now official.
Milan are already looking for a replacement for Giroud, and they have reportedly set aside €40 million for the transfer.
Jonathan David and Serhou Guirassy are two possible targets, but the top priority is Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutch striker is currently on loan at Bologna from Bayern Munich, and he is not interested in returning to Bavaria.
Other names on Milan’s radar include Santiago Gimenez (Feyenoord) and Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig).
It will be interesting to see who Milan sign to replace Giroud. The French striker has been a key player for the club since joining in 2021, and he will be difficult to replace.
🚨🇺🇸 LAFC have reached verbal agreement to sign Olivier Giroud on a contract valid until December 2025!
After interest revealed in October and formal bid earlier this week, there’s an initial agreement in place.
Nothing signed yet but close to being done.
