Milan make Gonçalo Ramos top summer transfer target to replace Olivier Giroud

Despite his solid performances and goals in Ligue 1, Gonçalo Ramos found himself sidelined once again in the Champions League on Wednesday. Could the striker be growing weary of PSG? AC Milan certainly hopes so.

Is PSG squandering Gonçalo Ramos? Many Parisian fans strongly believe so. Despite his 11 goals in Ligue 1 this season, the Portuguese forward hasn’t seen enough action in the Champions League. Ramos has only started once in the UCL and has played a mere 5 minutes in the knockout stages since February. On Wednesday night, Luis Enrique left him on the bench again at kickoff, and he ultimately never took the field against Dortmund. This could understandably frustrate the Portuguese goal scorer, especially as his main competitor, Randal Kolo Muani, continues to struggle.

AC Milan eye Ramos on loan

Could Gonçalo Ramos seek greener pastures this summer? AC Milan are seriously considering it. The Rossoneri are impressed by the Portuguese talent and are mindful of his challenging situation at PSG. Journalist Achille Ash reports that the Lombard club is in talks with PSG regarding a loan deal for Gonçalo Ramos next season. However, the Parisian management is already closing the door on this possibility.

Indeed, no departure is planned for Ramos, whether it’s a permanent transfer or a loan. PSG is standing firm on Ramos’s case, as reported by Achille Ash on X. This stance was expected from the Parisian club, especially with Kylian Mbappé departing and expectations resting on Gonçalo Ramos to fill his shoes. It’s worth noting that the Portuguese was purchased for €65 million from Benfica last summer. As Olivier Giroud prepares to depart for Los Angeles this summer, AC Milan may need to look elsewhere to find a new striker.
