Despite having confirmed Xavi Hernández as the head coach of the men’s first team for the upcoming season a month ago, the sporting management is already working on his possible replacement. In this regard, Deco and Bojan travelled to London to meet with Hansi Flick, one of the candidates to succeed the Catalan in the Culé dugout.
From Germany, they go further and assert that Flick will indeed replace Xavi Hernández if he ends up leaving the Blaugrana club when the season ends. This was explained by the German journalist Florian Plettenberg, specialized in the transfer market.
The aforementioned source also adds that there is a verbal agreement between Barça and the German coach to join forces next season, and that Flick would have presented a clear plan to the Catalan club. Joan Laporta, therefore, is 100% convinced that Flick should take over the Culé bench.
At this point, should Xavi not continue in his role for the next campaign, Flick is the best positioned, ahead of other candidates who were mentioned to take charge of the first team, such as Tuchel, Márquez, Motta, or De Zerbi.
