PSG have completely ruled out signing Bernardo Silva

The departure of Kylian Mbappé has shaken up the attack of a Paris Saint-Germain side that wants to take advantage of the summer transfer market to secure a guaranteed replacement. Among the list of targets was the name of Bernardo Silva, one of the key players for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, but his arrival at the Parc des Princes is becoming very complicated. As a result, Luis Enrique’s team will focus on other ‘cracks’.

According to ‘Le Parisien‘, PSG have completely ruled out signing Bernardo Silva, one of the top priorities of the club’s management, because they will not be able to activate his release clause of 50 million euros until June 2025. Too late to ‘heal’ the wounds left by the departure of their star, Kylian Mbappé, who will leave the team on a free transfer in a few weeks.

PLAN B’ IN PARIS

The Portuguese player, 29, was a target for Luis Campos, who signed him when he was at Monaco, a player who was quite unknown to the general public. But in Paris they are not panicking, and they have a ‘Plan B’. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, from Napoli under the inflexible Aurelio De Laurentiis.

If negotiating with Manchester City was complicated, due to the clash of geopolitical interests between Qatar, owners of PSG, and the United Arab Emirates, owners of the English team, trying to sign a player from the Italian president’s team is not an easy task, especially when it comes to saving money.

DE LAURENTIIS DOES NOT MAKE THINGS EASY

The 23-year-old Georgian, who burst onto the scene last season after landing in Calcio from Dinamo Batumi in his native country, has become one of the best left-wingers in Europe, being one of the leaders of the ‘Scudetto’-winning Napoli. This season, he has been somewhat more discreet, with 11 goals and 9 assists in 45 games, but that has not prevented PSG from keeping an eye on him.

This season, Napoli have been knocked out of European competition, and this could ‘push’ Kvaratskhelia to Ligue 1. PSG have already contacted the player’s entourage, who would be happy to become one of the ‘cracks’ at the Parc des Princes. The difficulty, however, lies with Aurelio De Laurentiis. In Europe, there are few negotiators as tough as the Napoli president, and he will not make his departure easy.

Valued at 80 million euros according to ‘Transfermarkt’, and with a contract until June 30, 2027, PSG have decided to put around 100 ‘kilos’ on the table, according to ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’. Will De Laurentiis accept?
