Vinicius Junior has been selected as the best player in the current edition of the Champions League. An award that highlights the player’s role in helping Madrid win their 15th title.
Vinicius scored the Whites’ second goal at Wembley, the culmination of his great season in Europe’s top competition. The Brazilian finished the Champions League with six goals and five assists. But above all, he conveyed the feeling that he was the most unbalancing player for the Whites in the competition.
The award is another argument for those who see the Brazilian as the big favorite to win the next Ballon d’Or. Vinicius has scored 24 goals and provided 11 assists this season for Ancelotti’s side. While waiting to see his performance in the Copa América this season, for now he has a Champions League and a La Liga title to his name.
Vinicius was not the only Madrid player to feature among the Champions League award winners. The Whites managed to place four players in the team of the season.
