The Spanish giants are determined to sign the Canadian left-back but are unwilling to meet Bayern Munich’s valuation
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have submitted an offer for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. The Spanish club are keen on signing the 22-year-old but are only willing to pay around €25-30 million for his services. This is significantly lower than the €50 million that Bayern were reportedly demanding just a month ago.
Davies’ future remains one of the biggest sagas of this summer’s transfer window. The Canadian has yet to agree a new contract with Bayern, despite the Bavarians’ willingness to extend his stay.
Romano’s information contradicts that of Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, who believes that the situation may have changed for Real Madrid.
Problems with Alphonso Davies
“The Alphonso Davies situation is not as clear-cut as people think,” Cortegana said. “I’ve already reported that there were some problems, that the player had gotten quite close to Bayern Munich and that Real Madrid were trying to catch up. There are many factors to consider.”
Florentino Pérez is aware that the left-back position is well covered and that this could allow Real Madrid to wait a year for Davies to become a free agent, although they will fight for the Canadian during this transfer window.
