Germany Could Fine Spain Over Lamine Yamal’s Age

According to German law, minors under the age of 18 are not allowed to work after 11:00 PM local time, and the fine could be up to €30,000.

According to Bild, Spain could be fined during the European Championship for fielding 16-year-old Lamine Yamal. Under German law, minors under the age of 18 are not allowed to work after 11:00 PM local time, so La Roja could face a fine of up to €30,000.

While the matches will end at 11:00 PM, this would also include showering, media attention, and other post-match activities for the players.

The 16-year-old Spanish striker clashes with a German youth protection law that applies to all children under the age of 18. According to Bild, the decree states that young people are not allowed to work after 8:00 PM local time. Young athletes are allowed to work until 11:00 PM.

The young Barcelona player has already started in the matches against Croatia and Italy, where he could have already broken this law. However, the authorities have not yet taken any action against such incidents in the field of sport.

This case would only apply to the national team, as it is the only team that has a minor player in its squad. Zaïre-Emery (France), Sauer (Slovakia) or Sigua (Georgia) are the next youngest. However, all three have already come of age.
